Book Review: Three Wishes, By Goldberg, Jones and Ferdinand
Three Wishes: A True Story of Good Friends, Crushing Heartbreak, and Astonishing Luck on Our Way To Motherhood
By: Carey Goldberg, Beth Jones, and Pamela Ferdinand
This is a true story of three women, Carey, Beth, and Pam. They were all successful at their work, but as they approached their upper 30′s they had failed to find romance. The story looks into each of the women’s lives, separately yet intertwined. All three women had decided that even without love they wanted to have a baby before time ran out. Well, without men, Carey took the first step towards being a single mother by searching for a sperm donor. She purchased the sperm, and found in the vial was not a father but a sort of magical potion. The magical potion somehow add to these women’s friendship, and leads to lives of love, shared joy, friendship, children, and to never lose hope.
My Review
This book was a true sisterhood tale of friendship, love, and family. I was personally drawn into each women’s life as they searched for love and motherhood. I read Three Wishes in about three days, it kept me captivated through the authors unfolding friendships, and the trials in the pursuit of happiness and childbirth. The book was made even more touching by how the women were so open and candid that you felt as if you were listening to your best friend talk about the intimate details of her life. Each chapter opens with a bit of dialogue between the three friends, and then goes deeper into each story of their work, trying to find love, and of course their quest for motherhood. This book brought back the joy and love you felt when your child was first born, and how much love a family and friendship can bring to your life.
This book was a GREAT read and I highly recommend it! You will not be disappointed.

I love your blog, and I have to say that I find it very intriguing that you provide book reviews. I love to read and am just now (given that my children finally sleep through the night on a regular basis) starting to allow myself to get back into it. My favorite “Me Time” is the half hour or so I spend reading before bed every night. But what book should I dedicate towards that precious time??? I am always happy to get another reader’s point of view for suggestions. Will be back!
