About the Book (21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart):

My Review:
This book really makes it sound very easy and inspiring to get started on a weight loss plan.
Why does this plan sound good? Dr. Barnard removes the word DIET. He basically states we can eat a good amount of food, and feel full, and lose weight. He explains that if we limit animal products and keep oils to a minimum we will lose weight. He takes away the calorie counting, and carbohydrate restrictions, and no exercise is needed.
This plan is focused on 21 days, and he believes that if you change your eating habits you can keep it up for a longer term. His KEY is to eat more foods that trick your brain into feeling full and satisfied. So by limiting meat, and oils and eating more whole grains, fruits and veggies–you can eat a good amount of food, and yet still lose weight.
Now while I need protein in my diet, I work out fairly consistently and need to be able to rebuild the muscle I have been broken down. But I do think the book has a great concept with encouraging whole grains, fruits and vegetables. I especially like the recipe section in the back of the book. It includes a menu for 21 days, along with the recipes to make all the yummy food. That is certainly a bonus for me, as I need recipes and ideas for new and healthy foods. There is even a recipe for a whacky chocolate cake(sounds YUMMY!)

It is even more useful for people who commute or travel around. Just by browsing the map, you can find out what is available on your way or your destination. For example, when you planning your vacation, restaurant bill is usually a big part. With social deal map, you can find out which restaurant near your hotel got bargains and you can easily cut your eat out expense into half.

I was so excited when I saw the tee shirts offered by The Chalkboard Tee from Class Attire. It is hard to find FUN and cool clothing for toddler boys! And this t-shirt was a hit! I picked out the grass skyline t-shirt, and it came with a neat little box of chalk. Mr. Toddler was so excited to get to color on his shirt. It was super easy to draw on the chalkboard part of the shirt, and it was easy to clean with a damp rag. It has a little pocket on the bottom of the shirt to store the chalk, WHAT A CUTE IDEA! Children’s Storybook Applications Giveaway for the iPhone/iPad by Ruckus Media

I know I have talked about how much I love my iPhone and iPad applications for Mr. Toddler. I really find the educational applications are a great teaching tool for Mr. Toddler, and best of all he just loves to play on my phone or iPad. It is great when we are driving, or in a restaurant to keep his attention, and allow him to read stories. So when I was contacted by Ruckus Media Group to do a review of their storybook applications, I was happy to do so!

I was given the opportunity to sample John Henry, Pecos Bill, and Tom Thumb. My son adored the animated applications. The graphics are amazing, and the actors do a wonderful job of telling the stories. And what is great is that with each application you have the option to watch the video narrated by actors, read the story yourself, or even read and record the story. We downloaded these applications on our iPad, and Mr. Toddler loves the videos on these applications, as told by the actors and performers. The animation is great, and really clear. His favorite has been John Henry, and he tends to play it over and over again. I enjoy reading the stories to him, but I think that pales in comparison to the fun of the digital version with the actors. I highly recommend these applications for your iPhone or iPad! These would make great Christmas gifts for the little ones in your life.

I have just started to dabble with the Legacy Family Tree Edition, and I am excited to find out more information! I really think it is neat how the program allows you to find your ancestors, and learn about your family history. This program is certainly comprehensive, and I am looking forward to learning more.
